Italian
language test and courses
Twice a year, the University of Padua offers all exchange students
(Erasmus, Erasmus Mundus and Bilateral students) a three-month Italian language course.
Incoming students are supposed to enrol on line and to take a preliminary test to evaluate their beginning level of knowledge of the local
language.
The course is free of charge, but attendance will
be suspended if students fail to take the first three lessons.
The Italian language course is provided by the
University Language Centre - CLA (Centro Linguistico di Ateneo),
which awards a certificate to all students taking the final test.
Language courses may be worth ECTS credits at the
incoming students' home university, but they are not mentioned in the
final transcript of records. Students should provide their
coordinators with the CLA certificate and agree on the most adequate
credit recognition procedure.
