The Winter School in Fundamental and Methods for Impact Evaluation in Population Studies welcomes participants from both European and Extra European countries. Participation costs cover a tuition fee and all the learning material handed out during classes. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to ten citizens from Developing Countries and Transition Economy Countries.

The Winter School in Fundamental and Methods for Impact Evaluation in Population Studies is open to participants from both European and Extra European countries. The program is intended to everybody interested (both academics or not), but at least with a basic knowledge of Descriptive and Inferential Statistics and of Population Studies. A good command of English is required.

2010 and 2011 Winter School
The opening edition of the Winter School was launched in December 2010, and was focused on Policies and Reproductive Behaviour. The second edition (December 2011) was focused on Demographic Transition and Development in Rich and Poor Countries. They deserved a very positive feed back from their participants. Students coming from all over the world were selected based on their professional and scientific resume and collaborated actively during classes.

About
the Programme
This Winter School covers the principles, methods and issues of causal inference in population studies. The Impact Evaluation Methodologies have only recently been extensively used in Population Studies. It is a ground-breaking topic that can be extremely promising for those interested in assessing the impact of both policies and external changes on demographic behavior.
